1. Character and Characterization
a. Major Character: The professor
b. Minor Character: The young pupil and the maid
2. Plot
a. Exposition:
It presents the introduction of the character and characterization, the problem, and also situation. In this drama begin the introduction a young pupil come. There is a professor aged 50 to 60 who lives with a maid aged 45 to 50. He accepts the students who want to study arithmetic and philology in his office.
Maid: Good morning, miss.
Pupil: Good morning, madam. Is the professor at home?
Maid: Have you come for the lesson?
Pupil: Yes I have.
Maid: He’s expecting you. Sit down for a moment. I’ll tell him you’re here.

b. Complication
In the middle of the lessons, the pupil has a toothache and tells about it to him, but he does not care, he continues teaching the lessons instead. Moreover, the pupil feels pain on her feet and headache. The professor still does not care and takes a knife from a drawer and asks the pupil to pronounce the word “knife”. The pupil cannot pronounce it well because she holds her pains.
Pupil: I’ve got a toothache
Professor: Now, say”kni,”like “kni,”fe,”fe”…And look, look, look at it, watch it…
Pupil: What is this one in? French, Italian or Spanish?
Professor: That doesn’t matter now…That not your concern. Say: “kni”
Pupil: “Kni”
Professor: …”fe”…Look.
Pupil: …”fe”…

c. Climax: the professor stabs her and does it again.
Pupil: Knife…my breast…my stomach…
Professor: pay attention…don’t break my window…the knife kills…

d. Resolution:
The professor asks the maid to bury the dead student together.
Professor: Yes, Marie! What are we going to do, now?
Maid: We’re going to bury her…along with the thirty-nine others…that will make forty coffins…I’ll order takers and my lover, Father Auguste…I’ll order the wreaths…
e. Causality
There is relationship when the pupil fell sick but the professor asks to say pronunciation knife. So until long time because of the pupil sick so she cannot say what the professor want and may be make the professor high emotion and kill her.
f. Plausibility
The story of drama may be plausible to happen in real life. In his drama, professor teaches and he ended with kills his pupil. Professor is smart people, with him smart can make him high emotion if his pupil can do what he want.

3. Setting
a. Setting of Place: the professor’s office
b. Setting of Time: in the morning

4. Point of View:
The second person is the professor, and the third persons are the pupil and the maid.

5. Imagery:
The author of this story seems knowing the background including characteristics and habits of them.

6. Theme: the professor’s bad habit

7. Style: using grammatical structure, sentence construction, and diction, figurative language, imagery and symbolism.


B. Technical Element

1. Casting: the professor as a psychopath, the pupil as new learner, the maid as a loyal person.
2. Mise en-Scene: using set dressing, properties, costumes, figure expression and movement
3. Cinematography
4. Sound: the professor uses louder intonation when teaching the pupil.
5. Editing: The use of one event to represent other events that happened in the past. It is murder that be done by professor to students who learn in him.

Conclusion
The conclusion is man with society. The setting that happened relationship with society. This drama shows the situation professor teach the pupils and he live with the Maid. The story in this drama tell about the life professor don’t care with his pupil that sick. He always teaches new pupil and the end with kills. And after that he and Maid bury the pupils. The professor have bad habit, may be the end with kills he has satisfaction. Beside that the Maid is a people that loyal for the professor.
